A large entry of 94 shooters entered this championship, being
run by Bisley Gun Club for the first time on three layouts.
The sun shone and there was a good atmosphere throughout the
day.
The champions by 3 targets and twelve points were – yes – you’ve
guessed – GREATER LONDON with Essex in second place and Kent in third.
The champion after a shoot off with Steve Miles (Greater London)
was John Butler (Sussex), the ladies champion was Michelle Waghorn (Kent), the
junior champion was Josh Cramer (Essex), the colt champion was Jack Tucker
(Surrey) and the veteran champion was Bernard Ambrose (Hertfordshire).
We were fed and watered by Jenny, Anne and Silvano, Dave Goddard
saved me a lot of adding up with his computer printouts, Joan took the entries
in her usual efficient manner, Pete Rogers was in charge of the layouts and I
spent the day between shooting the DTL ( 86 with a magnificent 24 second
barrels!!!!!) and running up to the NCSC where the Greater London UT
Championship was taking place. (Won by Metin Cenkci by the way).
Our glorious leader, Johnny Johnson, gave out the prizes (with a
little help from me).
My thanks, on behalf of the South East Region, go to everyone at
Bisley Gun Club for an excellent day.
